What is dry mixed recycling?
DMR reduces the amount of waste that ends up in landfill, and by extension, reduces the environmental impact of businesses who use it. If you’d like to reduce your carbon footprint and achieve your sustainability goals, we can help you to put a DMR system in place.
Below you’ll find the materials that can be put into a DMR bin:
- Card, including dry cardboard, card material, and card packaging
- Paper, including newspapers, magazines, junk mail, office paper, and envelopes
- Plastic, including dry plastic bottles, containers, pots, tubs, and trays
- Metal, including cans, metal trays, scrap, tools, coins, and aerosols
As you can see, this is a great system to manage your commercial paper recycling, commercial metal recycling, and commercial plastic recycling all at once.
Commercial mixed recycling collection
Just as every business has a different waste output, each Materials Recovery Facility has its own specifications for the types of recyclables it can process. With this in mind, an important part of creating a DMR plan for your business is ensuring only materials which can be processed are recycled.
When you work with Waste Managed we will first carry out an audit of your waste output, then advise on the materials you generate that are eligible for recycling. We will then provide the bins you require to store your DMR and advise on the most suitable collection schedule – either weekly or fortnightly – before collecting and transporting your recycling to an MRF.
